Anso

Anso is a traditional mountain village built almost entirely from solid grey stone, forming a compact and defensive urban structure. The houses stand extremely close to each other, connected by narrow drainage passages that shape the unique street network. The historic center is protected as a cultural heritage site due to its architectural integrity. Centuries of geographic isolation allowed the village to preserve its own dialect and customs. The surrounding landscape of forests and limestone ridges reinforces the feeling of a self contained mountain world.
