Morella

Morella is surrounded by an imposing defensive wall over two kilometers long, featuring numerous towers and ancient gateways. At the very top of the hill stands a monumental castle that served as a key strategic point for various civilizations throughout history. Within the town walls, you can find narrow medieval streets and the Gothic church of Santa María la Mayor with its unique spiral staircase. The town's architecture reflects the influence of different cultures, from Roman times to Moorish rulers and Christian kings. The entire urban ensemble is designated as a site of cultural heritage for its exceptional preservation and historical importance.
