Montanejos

Montanejos sits about 90 km northwest of Valencia, surrounded by the Espadán and Calderona ranges. People come for the Fuente de los Baños: a thermal spring releasing some 6,000 litres a minute into a bathing stretch over 100 metres long, walled in by a limestone gorge nearly 15 metres high. The water stays around 25°C all year, and the site holds a Blue Flag — the only inland thermal river spot in Spain to do so. Beyond the swimming, the Mijares valley has more than 2,000 bolted climbing routes on compact limestone, plus several via ferratas nearby. A day here usually mixes a hike along the river, a swim, and a soak.
