Las Bardenas Reales
About the place
Las Bardenas Reales is a protected biosphere reserve that looks very different from the green valleys of northern Spain. The park is famous for its strange rock towers, like the one called Castildetierra, which stands alone on the plain. The ground is made of soft materials that the wind and rain have carved into deep canyons and high cliffs. Because it looks like another planet, this desert has been used as a location for many famous movies and shows. Visitors can travel through the area on special tracks for cars, bikes, or by walking to see the dry riverbeds.
