Hiking

Spain holds most of them, and Aragon alone carries close to a hundred: high mountain lakes, via ferratas, waterfalls dropping in at the edge of a village. Iceland, Madeira and the Italian Dolomites take up much of the rest. Effort varies as much as the terrain, and roadside viewpoints and ten-minute scrambles sit in the same list as twelve-kilometre walks through gorges. Several of the Icelandic entries lie on F-roads, reached only by 4x4 and across unbridged rivers.
