Via Ferratas

A via ferrata is an equipped rock route that allows people to traverse steep and vertical mountain sections without professional mountaineering training. A steel cable is fixed along the entire route, and participants attach themselves to it using a special safety harness with carabiners. Metal rungs and steps are installed in the rock, and sometimes ladders and suspension bridges as well — all of this helps climbers move upward and feel more confident at height. Via ferrata is not traditional rock climbing because the route is заранее prepared and equipped. Nevertheless, it can be physically demanding: there are relatively easy routes for beginners as well as challenging options with vertical walls and long traverses. This format allows people to experience something close to mountaineering, but with a higher level of safety.
