Abandoned Places

Most are industrial ruins: ochre and lead mines, a stone quarry on Menorca, a hydroelectric station on the Glorieta River, a herring factory on the Strandir coast. The rest are the emptied village of Otal in Aragon, the Aguas de Busot spa near Alicante and a Roman water tunnel near Ucero. Eight of the ten are in Spain, from Catalonia to Murcia; the other two are in Iceland. Only Aguas de Busot sits near a town, and the rest stand in open country.
