Canyons

Spain holds 108 of the 131 canyons, concentrated in Aragon, Valencia and Andalusia, where rivers such as the Vero and the Cinca cut narrow limestone corridors. Steel walkways, suspension bridges and stone stairways run through many of them, including Caminito del Rey and the Pasarelas del Vero. The 23 Icelandic canyons are barer and colder: Asbyrgi, Mulagljufur, the gorge below Dettifoss. Almost all start with a walk from a car park, and the highland ones in Iceland open only in summer.
