Iceland's hot water takes many forms here: milky-blue silica lagoons in lava fields, stone tubs on the black sand at Hauganes, and pools floating on a lake at Vok Baths. Seven are in the north and five in the west, with four more in the capital region. The best-known lagoons run on pre-booked time slots and sell out. The wild springs cost nothing and have no changing rooms or staff.
