Vok Baths

Vök Baths is East Iceland's geothermal spa, built out over Lake Urriðavatn a few minutes north of Egilsstaðir. Two hexagonal pools float on the lake, their infinity edges melting into the water; both are held at a warm 38–41°C. The water is the draw: it is the only geothermal source in Iceland clean enough to drink, and it flavours the free herbal tea at the bar. Between soaks you can walk a cold-water tunnel or plunge straight into the cool lake.
