Gufu Waterfall

About the place
Gufu Waterfall sits on Route 93, the scenic road that drops from the Fjarðarheiði pass into Seyðisfjörður in East Iceland. The Fjarðará river tumbles down a whole run of cascades here, and Gufufoss is the largest, falling about 27 metres in a veil of spray that gives it the name 'steam falls'. It stands close enough to the road that most people see it from the car; a gravel path leads down to the river, and a short trail above opens up fjord views.
