Seyðisfjörður Blue Church

The painted rainbow street through Seyðisfjörður ends at a small blue wooden church. Consecrated in 1922 in the Norwegian timber style of the old trading town around it, it burned in 1989 and the community rebuilt it plank by plank. It is still the parish church, and in summer it doubles as the fjord's concert hall, with a weekly series in the wooden nave. Most people come to photograph the blue gable against the grey mountains behind.
