Laugarvellir Hot Natural Pot

About the place
The defining feature of Laugarvellir is the warm waterfall itself: geothermal water spills over a low ledge and drops into a small, stone-floored pool, so you can stand under the flow like a natural hot shower. The water averages around 40°C, though it is not regulated and can run hotter, so test it before you get in. The pool is about knee-to-waist deep and roughly 20 m², set in bare highland with almost no infrastructure beyond a simple shelter nearby. Getting here is the catch: from the Hálslón reservoir, road 910 turns into the unpaved F910, and the final stretch needs a high-clearance 4WD. Plan it as a stop on a longer highland route rather than a quick detour.
