Waterfall Circle
About the place
The Waterfall Circle loops for roughly 8 km from the Laugarfell mountain hut, deep in the interior of East Iceland below Snæfell, the highest peak outside the island's ice caps. The path links five waterfalls in a short stretch, among them Kirkjufoss, Faxi and the basalt-framed Stuðlafoss, crossing boggy moor, streams and small canyons on boardwalks over the wettest ground. Two natural hot pools at the hut close the walk.
