Klifbrekku Cascade Waterfalls

Klifbrekkufossar falls down the head of Mjóifjörður in seven or eight low steps, one below the next. The water runs clear rather than glacial grey, because the river Fjarðará rises from springs and lakes on the heath above, not a glacier. The fjord is remote and little-visited, and for many people the drive in — a long gravel track over the mountains — is as memorable as the falls themselves.
