Landbrotalaug Hot Spring

About the place
Landbrotalaug is a tiny wild hot spring located at the base of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland. The pool is little more than a stone-lined hollow in the ground, fitting only two bathers at a time. Its absolute minimalism and isolation set it apart from larger geothermal sites. The surrounding landscape consists of marshy plains, solidified lava fields, and distant mountains on the horizon. Bathing here feels otherworldly, with hot water contrasting against cold winds sweeping across the open land.
