Deildartunguhver
About the place
Deildartunguhver is a hot spring in the Reykholt valley of west Iceland. Water breaks out of the ground at 97 °C and runs off in steaming channels — around 180 litres every second, the highest flow of any hot spring in Europe. It is fenced off for viewing from a boardwalk, not for bathing. The same water heats Borgarnes and Akranes, and feeds the Krauma baths next door.
