Geosea Geothermal Sea Baths
About the place
GeoSea is a set of geothermal baths on the cliff edge at the tip of Húsavík, and the twist is the water: the pools hold warm, mineral-rich seawater rather than the usual fresh water. An infinity rim sets the roughly 38 °C water against the cold blue of Skjálfandi Bay, with snow-capped mountains across the fjord and the Arctic Circle out over the sea. From the warmth you watch fishing boats work the harbour, and whales often breach in the bay below.
