Forest Lagoon

About the place
Forest Lagoon is a new geothermal spa in northern Iceland, located inside the dense Vaðlasheidi forest opposite Akureyri. This is one of the few locations in the country where geothermal baths are surrounded by trees. The surrounding landscape is quiet and stark, with the forest sheltering guests from the wind and offering panoramic views of Eyjafjord and snow-capped mountains. The warm steam contrasts with the cool pine forest, creating a unique forested alien landscape. During construction, hot water was accidentally discovered while tunneling under a mountain, now feeding the pools.
