Myvatn Nature Baths
About the place
Opened in 2004 on the Jarðbaðshólar hill just east of Reykjahlíð, Myvatn Nature Baths is the north's answer to the Blue Lagoon — smaller, cheaper and far less crowded. The broad, milky-blue lagoon holds mineral-rich water drawn from a geothermal borehole and cooled to a comfortable 36–40°C. There are steam baths, a swim-up bar and a bistro looking over Lake Mývatn. It was renovated and rebranded Earth Lagoon Mývatn in 2025.
