Beach Baths Hauganes

About the place
Fjöruböðin, the beach baths, is a small cluster of hot tubs on the black-sand beach at Hauganes, a fishing village on Eyjafjörður in north Iceland. The water is naturally hot geothermal spring water — the same source that heats the village — and one tub is built in the shape of a boat. Between soaks you can plunge into the cold Atlantic a few steps away, watch the fjord, or warm up in the sauna. It is a homespun alternative to the big spa lagoons.
