Migandifoss Viewpoint

Most Icelandic waterfalls drop into a river or a pool. Mígandifoss is rarer: it falls in a single ribbon straight off a coastal cliff into the sea, at the mouth of Eyjafjörður. Meltwater from the mountains feeds it, so the sight is seasonal — a strong white plume in early summer and after rain, barely a trickle in a dry spell. There is no car park, path or sign; you catch it from the road and pull over. That rough roadside character is part of the draw, but take care on the verge and above the drop.
