Olafsfjordur Beach

About the place
Ólafsfjörður Beach spreads along the mouth of its namesake fjord, past the last houses on the road to Kleifar, where the water opens into the wider Eyjafjörður. The sand is fine and dark, and the steep peaks of Tröllaskagi rise close behind it, snow lingering into summer. Visitors come off the coast road for a short walk on the black sand, a picnic at the tables above it, and the view of boats and seabirds across the fjord.
