Husavik Mountain
About the place
Húsavíkurfjall rises 417 metres directly behind the town of Húsavík, in northeast Iceland, and its summit gives the widest view along this stretch of coast. The town and harbour sit below, Skjálfandi Bay opens to the north with the islands of Flatey and Lundey, the Kinnarfjöll ridge lines the far shore, and on clear days the view reaches east towards the Mývatn highlands. A gravel road climbs most of the way in summer, or you can walk up in about an hour and a half.
