Dalvik Beach

Dalvik Beach sits on the shore of Eyjafjörður, at the edge of the fishing town of Dalvík in North Iceland. A short walk from the car park leads to where the Svarfaðardalsá river spreads into a shallow delta, with snow-streaked mountains behind and the low green island of Hrísey out on the fjord. Reached through the town's working harbour, it is unpolished and rarely busy — a place for a windswept walk and wide views rather than a groomed tourist beach.
