Vadlaheidi Hot Springs is an unusual geothermal feature, created during the construction of the Vadlaheidi tunnel when a hot water vein was discovered. The water flows over the cliff, forming a small waterfall and hand-built stone pools. The temperature contrast is striking, especially in winter when steam rises above the water while the fjord below is icy. The surrounding landscape is quiet and stark: bare cliffs and a steep slope dominate the view. This otherworldly site combines accidental engineering and natural forces, offering a rare Icelandic experience.
