Secret Lagoon

About the place
Secret Lagoon is Iceland's oldest swimming pool, established in 1891 in a traditional village setting. The pool maintains its authentic charm with steam rising constantly, providing privacy to bathers. Paths around the lagoon pass bubbling mud pots and the small geyser Litli Geysir, which erupts every few minutes. The landscape combines volcanic activity with historical human recreation, creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere. Birds often nest in the warm steam, and the old changing building remains as a historic landmark.
