Bruarfoss Waterfall

Brúarfoss draws visitors for its colour rather than its size. Fine glacial silt in the Brúará river scatters daylight into a vivid turquoise that streams over dark rock into a narrow gorge, framed by a small footbridge. The falls are modest — a run of low steps rather than one big drop. A dedicated car park replaced the old riverside hike, so they now sit a short walk away, fitting into a Golden Circle day between Þingvellir and Geysir. The colour is fullest in bright light.
