Háifoss

Háifoss is one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland. A 122-metre ribbon of water drops off the Fossá river into a deep canyon at the head of the Þjórsárdalur valley, near the Hekla volcano. A second, thinner fall called Granni — 'the neighbour' — comes down beside it, so from the rim you look at two waterfalls at once, with the river far below. The track in stays rough, which keeps the crowds thinner than at the coast.
