Haafossvegur Waterfall

About the place
Háafossvegur is not a waterfall but the rough mountain road that reaches two of them. It climbs out of the Þjórsárdalur valley in South Iceland to a clifftop above Háifoss and Granni — two tall, narrow falls of the river Fossá that drop side by side into a deep, green-walled canyon, with the volcano Hekla on the horizon. Háifoss is one of the highest waterfalls in the country. The road is gravel and rough, so getting there is part of the trip.
