Nauthusagil Ravine

About the place
Nauthusagil Ravine is carved by a mountain stream flowing through soft volcanic rock. The waterfall descends into a shaded corridor between steep moss-covered walls. The hiking route follows the stream bed and requires several shallow crossings. Access involves a walk of more than 1.5 kilometers from the nearest parking area. The gorge offers a compact example of erosion shaped by water and lava.
