Irarfoss Waterfall

Írárfoss is a small waterfall on the Írá river in South Iceland, just off the Ring Road near Skógar. It sits between the far busier Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, but few tour buses stop, so it stays quiet. A free car park and a short walk over uneven ground bring you to the falls, with the Eyjafjallajökull ice cap on the skyline behind. You can walk close to the water in waterproof boots, and on a bright day the spray throws a rainbow.
