Bruarhlod Gorge

About the place
Bruarhlod is a geological wonder featuring steep, columnar breccia and hyaloclastite formations carved by the Hvítá River. The deep canyon offers a dramatic contrast to the chalky blue-green glacial water. While often overlooked by tourists heading to Gullfoss, it provides excellent opportunities for photography, peaceful hiking along the rim, and is the launching point for whitewater rafting adventures.
