Geysir

About the place
Geysir is the "father" of all geysers and a major attraction in Haukadalur valley. At its peak, it could erupt a column of hot water up to 170 meters high, recorded in 1845. Unlike its neighbor Strokkur, Geysir is very unpredictable and can remain dormant for decades. Even when inactive, it impresses with its deep azure pool, close to boiling temperature. The surrounding area is a vibrant geothermal field with steam rising from the ground.
