Alcala del Jucar is a remarkable village cascading down a rocky hill encircled by a deep bend in the river. Many of the houses are carved directly into the white limestone cliffs, naturally maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round. An ancient fortress towers over the historic center, offering sweeping views of the entire valley and the lush riverbanks below. One of the most distinctive features of this site is the long tunnels that cut through the rock to connect different parts of the village. The location blends unique troglodyte architecture with the natural grandeur of the canyon, embodying the timeless spirit of Castile.
