Enguídanos

Enguídanos sits in the Serranía de Cuenca, around 80 km from Cuenca city, on a stretch of the Cabriel rated among Europe's cleanest rivers. Its draw is the Chorreras del Cabriel: a series of cascades, rapids and turquoise pools shaped by tufa, the soft limestone rock the river builds up over time. To protect the site, access is limited to a few hundred people a day with paid parking, so you book before you go. The circular PR-CU 53 trail starts in the village and reaches the falls; it's rated moderate, with steep and slippery sections that need proper footwear. Visit on a weekday or outside high summer for the calmer version.
