About the place
Bubal is a historic Pyrenean village overlooking the Bubal Reservoir, shaped by the dramatic transformation of the Tena Valley. In the nineteen seventies the settlement was abandoned after fertile pastures were flooded by the dam project. Decades later the village was carefully restored using traditional materials and construction techniques. Stone houses with slate roofs and narrow paved streets reflect authentic mountain architecture. Today Bubal functions as an educational and ecological center focused on rural heritage and sustainable development.
