Caceres

About the place
The city of Caceres is a fortress enclosed by Moorish walls featuring thirty defensive towers. Inside the old quarter, there are monumental palaces, Gothic churches, and narrow cobbled streets completely free of modern signage and shopfronts. The architectural style reflects a blend of Roman, Islamic, and Northern Gothic influences. Key landmarks include the Santa Maria Cathedral and the Carvajal Palace, as well as numerous ancestral coats of arms carved into the stone facades. Due to its exceptionally authentic atmosphere, the city is frequently used as a large-scale filming location for historical movies and television series.
