Los Pilones Giant's Kettles

About the place
Los Pilones Giant's Kettles is a series of natural basins carved into the granite riverbed by centuries of water erosion. These smooth stone bowls, filled with crystal-clear mountain water, are linked by small waterfalls and rapids. Access to the site is provided by a network of hiking trails within the reserve, passing through lush oak and chestnut forests. During the summer, the location is a popular spot for outdoor swimming in a natural setting, with wooden walkways offering safe viewpoints over the water formations. The site clearly demonstrates the power of hydraulic erosion in shaping solid rock into fluid, sculptural landscapes.
