Câmara de Lobos Harbour

About the place

Câmara de Lobos Harbour is a picturesque fishing bay on the southern coast of Madeira Island, surrounded by basalt cliffs and colorful fishing boats. It is a traditional spot for catching black scabbardfish and producing Madeira wine, where visitors can experience the authentic local atmosphere. The bay is famous for being the place where Winston Churchill painted his artworks, and today tourists come here to capture scenes with fishing “savelas” and cozy waterfront cafés.
