Church of St. Magdalena in Val di Funes

About the place
The Church of St. Magdalena is located in a quiet alpine valley at the foot of the Odle peaks in the Dolomites. The first documented mention of the church dates back to 1394. The current building is late Gothic, with a bell tower preserved from the earlier church. The interior combines a Gothic structure with Baroque decoration; the choir is adorned with frescoes from 1928. Set among green meadows, historic buildings, and majestic mountains, the church is one of the most picturesque and photogenic scenes in the Dolomites.
