Guadalest

About the place
Guadalest is divided into a medieval upper quarter and a modern lower area. The town is literally embedded in the granite ridge, overlooking the reservoir. The landscape is dramatic: sharp limestone peaks, terraced olive and almond groves, and deep turquoise water. The iconic white bell tower stands on a rock finger, becoming a symbol of the Alicante region. Visitors enter the historic district through the San José gate, a natural rock passage, exploring ancient houses and unusual museums.
