Playa Binibèquer Nou is a public beach in the municipality of Sant Lluís on Menorca, in Spain's Balearic Islands. A strip of sand runs down to clear blue water, with rocks at its sides. The beach has one bar, the Bucaneros, serving drinks, salads and seafood, as well as free toilets and pedal boats for hire. It draws families with young children and is crowded in summer, when space on the sand runs out.

What makes it special
The water is clear and blue right up to the sand, and the rocks on the right-hand side hold the best snorkelling, down to the odd starfish on the bottom. Binibèquer Nou is a swimming beach first. Families with young children settle in for the day, and the day goes between the water, the towel and a cold drink on the shaded terrace of the Bucaneros beach bar. Pedal boats are for hire if you want to get further out. Outside the peak season the beach is worth a full day; in July, with the sand packed, half a day is enough.
Good to know
- There is no natural shade on the sand. Bring a beach umbrella and sun cream.
- Do not count on a sunbed: they are often all reserved, and at times there are none at all.
- Space for towels runs out when the beach is crowded, so come early in summer.
- Free public toilets stand by the Bucaneros, the only bar on the beach.
- There is no drinking-water tap by the beach; bring water or buy drinks at the bar.
Getting there
The car park sits about 170 m from the beach in a straight line, with street parking nearby as well. From the car park a path leads to the sand in about five minutes on foot. In summer the car park fills early: arrive before half past nine to be sure of a space.
The bus is the alternative. The Binibèquer - Platja stop is about 155 m from the beach, and the Torret stop about 285 m.
Best time to visit
Best: early morning, or any day outside July and August.
Avoid: the middle of a summer day.
The beach has no natural shade, and in high season the car park is full and the sand packed by mid-morning; out of season there is room to spread out and stay the whole day.
