Pozo de las Palomas

About the place
Pozo de las Palomas is located upstream from the main reservoir, where the Mijares River preserves its natural clarity and flow. Over thousands of years, limestone erosion has sculpted a deep, rounded basin that collects cool, crystalline water. The surrounding canyon walls are draped with mosses, shrubs, and scattered pine trees, creating a striking contrast with the rugged cliffs. The water reflects sunlight in varying shades of green and blue, changing throughout the day and adding a dynamic visual element. A winding trail through pine forests leads to the pool, allowing visitors to observe diverse plant life and small wildlife along the way.
