Pampaneira is a mountain village famous for its flat-roofed houses and unique stone chimneys. Small water channels run through the center of the cobbled streets to keep the air cool. The main square features a historic church and several shops selling colorful local rugs. Many hikers use this spot as a starting point to explore the high trails of the Poqueira Valley. The town officially belongs to the network of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
