Albarracin City Walls

About the place
The Albarracin City Walls are a historic fortification system originally built by the Moors in the tenth century and later expanded after the Christian reconquest. The walls follow the crest of the hill, climbing toward the highest point marked by the Donia Blanca tower. Constructed from local pink stone, the masonry appears to grow directly out of the rocky slopes. Steep cliffs and rugged terrain beneath the walls enhance their sense of scale and strength. The fortifications merge architecture and landscape into a single monumental silhouette.
