Arboleja Strait

Arboleja Strait

About the place

The Arboleja Strait is a narrow canyon about half a kilometer long, shaped by centuries of erosion from the Rambla de Lebor stream. The walking trail follows the bottom of the crevice, where high walls provide welcome shade and a uniquely cool microclimate. On the rock surfaces, visitors can spot numerous marine fossils that reflect the region's ancient oceanic past. Small springs and lush vegetation line the path, standing in stark contrast to the typically arid landscapes of Murcia. This natural area is perfect for an easy hike and for exploring the unusual geology of southern Spain.
