Casco Historico

About the place
Casco Historico is the historic center of Cuenca (a historic city on the rocks), recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The quarter is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets, ancient churches, and manor houses with stone crests. The main feature of this area is its architecture, which is perfectly adapted to the rugged landscape: many buildings are constructed directly over the steep drops of the Jucar and Huecar river gorges. This area is home to major landmarks, including the cathedral and the famous hanging houses. Visitors come here to experience the medieval Spanish atmosphere, explore historic squares, and enjoy the panoramic viewpoints overlooking the surrounding valleys.
