La Tajera Dam Viewpoint

About the place
The viewpoint is positioned near the dam’s crest to offer a direct look at the massive concrete structure and the water discharge area. Below the barrier, the river regains its natural course as it winds through a deep rocky valley characteristic of the Guadalajara highlands. The surrounding cliffs serve as a natural habitat for large colonies of vultures and other protected mountain birds. Its location on the edge of the Alcarria plateau makes it a prime spot for observing the geological layers formed by millennia of erosion. Visitors can enjoy the stark contrast between the industrial scale of the dam and the wild, untouched landscape of the Tajuna gorge.
