Colegiatte of Alquezar

Colegiatte of Alquezar is a monumental stone complex built on the site of an early medieval fortress. The church rises above the canyon, offering wide views over cliffs and winding gorges. Massive walls, towers, and narrow openings reflect its original defensive function. Inside, a rare Romanesque cloister with sculpted capitals preserves scenes of biblical symbolism. The complex represents an important stage in the Christian reconquest of the Somontano region.
